I got this book because I was looking for help chirping the girls I meet.

This book didn’t have a business to with with chirping. I read it cover to cover and all it conversation about is chatting on the web. That doesn’t work. The best way to twitter is face-to-face.

I reflect the instigator may possibly have done a surpass job of describing what this book is about. Possibly Mr Comm doesn’t know that “chirping” is the same as seducing women and “promote” is another name for a one-night stand, which is the goal of chirping.

If you want to read a book by a right chirping master, I recommend The Mystery Method: How to Get Gorgeous Women Into Bed as a replacement for.

Well, well, well… here we were all set to circulate a write-up on Joel Comm’s just released `Twitter Power’ one of the many, many books that have popped up in the wake of the experience that is the world’s largest social networking micro-blog, when all of a sudden we get a call from the book’s publicist in New York asking if we want to cover – wait for it – the new journal!

Now high and mighty Twitter books will be very nearly as copious and instant to promote as third-party Twitter apps (here are well over 1,000 by now), we surpass get vacant on this! In `Twitter Power 2.0: How to Dominate Your Promote One Tweet at a Time,’ novelist Comm takes us on a virtual tour of all the main facial advent of the micro-blog site and the copious ways that Twitter can be used to expand one’s sphere of shape or to build a subsequent by diffusion communication on behalf of one’s business. Like many Twitter tomes, Comm clarifies how to get started on Twitter, how to build a subsequent, the policy of convergence, tweet protocol and a exact description of all the basics needed to commence using Twitter `accurately.’ Comm goes onto give reasons for, through many of his private examples (he is a huge social networking blogger as well) how to use vital strategies to build and engage your audience through the quality of your tweets, making a variety of announcements, contests, etc. Comm further illustrates how to deal with teams via Twitter and concludes with a tour of the vital third-party applications available for Twitter (Twit-pic, TweetDeck, Twillow, TwitterCounter, etc…) as well as a conversation of some ways to use the Twitter API.

In the end, `Twitter Power 2.0 is not so much about power (as it’s name implies) but rather Twitter basics. It is a beginners book, not an advanced number. Exact for someone who still hasn’t tied the world of Twitter, but apt to be seen as dull or not no matter what thing new, for persons who have by now been using the micro-blogging service for a year or more. If you or someone you know has yet to explore Twitter, `Twitter Power’ may be a excellent place to commence. If you are by now a fixed user, here is small new here that you won’t by now know and may find additional books (Brian Solis’s `Engage’ for example) more your speed.

I loved reading Twitter Power by Joel Comm. The underlying points are to be with you that Twitter can:

    - build relationships

    - be a communication tool

    - allocate you to make friends and help broadcast

    - grow your arrangement of resources to start more fulfilling relations

Using Twitter has helped me be thankful for real-life relationships even more – by realizing the the makings and power of share, listening and contributing.

If here’s one business Joel’s book desires you to remember, it’s that `Tweeting is a administer.’

The book opens with the description of how the low-cost of publishing content online earnings that we’re not being talked to by qualified writers and publishers as much anymore, but we’re talking to each additional. Joel clarifies the social media concept and why it’s so vital by broadcast who use it. We’re not just making exchange, we’re making communities.

The first numerous chapters are helpful for beginner tweeters, and place forward many tips for private as well as corporate tweeting. But my appeal perked up beginning with stage 8, Using Twitter to Help Build Your Strain. This is a hot topic for local tweeps I am subsequent. Joel mentions how companies that `don’t get it’ can have a unenthusiastic impression on their strain.

“Firms that don’t get social media look like interlopers, unwanted guests who have gatecrashed the cool broadcast’s party.”

Joel gives examples of many companies that get it right, and some that just don’t get it. It’s vital to know that broadcast and Twitter followers rather to know that here is a person in the rear the company. While it’s vital to remember a company’s tweets must grow animal, they’re also in place of the company. For corporate branding here wants to be a balance or at least understanding to `mix it up’ when it comes to types of tweets.

I did delight in this book; it was an simple read and I be thankful for the references to Twitter strategies, as well as links to the many sites and Tweeters both private and corporate, of which I regard their advice and am now subsequent.

Pretty much all has heard of Twitter. Commercials and web sites all talk about Twitter. Just what is this Twitter website – and how can you use it to renovate your strain?

Joel’s book “Twitter Power” is aimed at the very novice user. Not only that, but this is in fact a “Joel Promotion Book” which mentions Joel’s business brands at least 8,000 times. I am probably not exaggerating. But let’s start from the beginning.

Joel says that 2 years is a “time” in internet stipulations, to show how commanding Twitter is – and then quickly quotes stats about Twitter from back in August 2008. Isn’t that a “time” ago? He promotes his blog, his mom’s blog, his photos … aren’t we supposed to be discussing Twitter here? When he’s digressing about Flickr, he’s screening metaphors of StumbleUpon jabber.

His stats are regularly meant to be encouraging but are highly questionable. He says half of Twitter’s users only stay on 10 broadcast or are followed by 10 broadcast. That to be in the top 10 of all of Twitter you only need 80 followers. He’s trying to make you reflect, “Hey, I may possibly do that!” But as usual, these stats are rather asinine. Surely this is including INACTIVE financial statement. I am sure most ACTIVE Twitter users have more than 10 followers. It’s twisting information to suit his purposes.

Twitter isn’t a “teen” business. A full quarter of users are 35-44 years ancient. This is primarily a way for adults to stay in touch with topics they are interested in. It’s a free push relief engine that directly reaches broadcast fascinated by your topic.

He then moves into a few useful tidbits. Point out a resultant username (like “TrekBikes” rather than “xyzzyforfun”). Post a excellent quality photo to strain physically as high quality, and use your social class to continue that promotion. Make vital posts, not spam. Many broadcast get their tweets on their cell phones, everywhere they pay per message, and they will rub out you quickly if you make them pay for garbage. Don’t just mass join additional broadcast in the vain hopes of getting friends. Search on your topic and join matching broadcast. Web users are very savoir-faire about the quality vs quantity come forth.

Don’t just blast your message. Engage in conversations and provide regard. Don’t start multi-tweet messages everywhere you have to read each one in diplomacy. Twitter isn’t built like that. Consolidate your message into small posts, and link to an external blog if you need more info. Speak in full English whenever you can. Yes, it’s a challenge to get it to fit in the interval vital – but it earnings you have to post quality content.

When you post something generic, like “vacant to the pile”, always have a private touch on it, to connect with users. Add in fun tweets to result in a smile, and money off thoughts, to save money. Use the feed for news, help, feedback, and offers.

Place your Twitter info in your email signatures, on your business cards. Have it a normal part of your branding.

A pet annoy of mine – Joel encourages broadcast to run contests but makes NO result in up of the serious legalities involved. What if you run a contest and are eliciting addresses from under-13 users, and get sued for the treacherous privacy issues that involves? Contest are gambling, and many countries have VERY serious laws against gambling.

Here’s a thirty day plot in here, but in fact it’s very serious. Start an account. Stay on broadcast. Make posts. Make more posts.

I read through the book, gave it a month to ponder, and then read the entire book over again. I had very nearly the rigorous same clarification both times. He is WAY too heavy on his private promotion in here. This is very nearly a “help Joel and his projects” book. He is VERY light on fine points and examples.

Yes, if you’ve by no earnings used Twitter at all, you’ll find this useful – but you’d find many additional competing books FAR more useful without all the self promotion in it.
