You are mostly right. It's very fun and creative. I make TV Promotions where I'm coming up with dozens of ideas for various spots every month. The down side is, sometimes you're on a deadline to be creative.

The other big down side you need to know about is that it's not just about coming up with ideas YOU find creative. You have a lot of other people to please - your boss and the client. You may have a great idea for a commercial for a car dealership - but the client wants their awkward looking nephew in the commercial screaming about low prices. In that case, you may have to throw your creativity to the side and just create what the client wants.

Prepared to have a thick-skin. And realize not all ads you make will be how you want them - and take joy in the few spots you do get to have creative control over - and you'll do just fine.
