Cingular Presents: YouTube Underground Contest

6 October 2006 329 views 6 Comments

So you’re a U.S.-based band or musician producing original songs and videos, and you’ve just entered the YouTube Underground Contest. Now that you’ve uploaded your entry, what happens next? Well, your video goes into a queue for approval — not for potential greatness (though we may have some opinions on that which we’ll keep to ourselves), but to make sure that you’re sticking to all the contest’s rules and you meet its eligibility requirements. Assuming everything’s good to go, your video will appear in the general pool of submissions on or before October 25, when the community will begin voting on the top finalists in four categories, including Best Song and Best Performance. (Please note that even if your video clears the initial review process, content is constantly being vetted and may be pulled at any time if any infractions are discovered.) So with that, we’ll say: thanks for playing, and good luck!
